Letter to the editor: Food drive supporters deserve thanks for helping
The recent “Fill the Zeb” food and flood supply drive to help our western North Dakota neighbors was a wonderful success! In four short days we filled about one half of a semi trailer and raised more than $3,700. All donated items and amounts have been given to the Great Plains Food Bank, which has and will continue to send semi-loads of much-needed relief items to our family and friends in Minot and the surrounding region.By: Joan Morris, The Jamestown Sun
The recent “Fill the Zeb” food and flood supply drive to help our western North Dakota neighbors was a wonderful success! In four short days we filled about one half of a semi trailer and raised more than $3,700. All donated items and amounts have been given to the Great Plains Food Bank, which has and will continue to send semi-loads of much-needed relief items to our family and friends in Minot and the surrounding region.
Thank you to all of our flood relief donors. Your generosity and compassion is overwhelming. Thank you to the Rev. Al Bitz, Principal Mark Wiest and the rest of the St. John’s Academy staff for the use of the Zebedee Center. Thank you to Mary Trautman and Elsie Weber for scheduling our wonderful volunteer greeters, who provided smiles to all who came to the Zebedee Center. And thank you to all the local businesses for providing publicity for our drive.
It seemed that everyone who dropped off items for the drive had a story about a friend or family member that has been severely impacted by this year’s flooding. Let’s continue to keep everyone in that region in our thoughts and prayers.
