Jaws earn 36 medals at Games

Four Jamestown Jaws swimmers won seven medals each at the Prairie Rose State Games at the Bismarck Aquatic Center on July 9.

The Jaws sent 18 swimmers total to the meet and the team combined for 34 top three finishes. The top three placers in each event earned medals.

Cody Lange and Erin Hart each had three first-place finishes to lead the Jaws.

Lange swam to top honors in the 200 free and the 50 and 100 backstrokes in the 10-year-old division.

Hart won gold in the 50 free, 100 free and 200 backstroke among 17-year-olds.

Annie Hart, Jessica Moritz and Landon Ostlie each had one first-place swim.

Annie Hart won the 50 free in the 14-year-old division.

Moritz, in the 19-and-up class, won the 400 free.

Ostlie had three seconds to go along with his win in the 200 free.

In all, the Jaws swimmers combined for 13 second-place efforts.

Madisen Prasek was the other medal-winner from Jamestown, placing second in the 100 fly in the 11-year-olds.

The Jaws had three relay teams place second.

Ostlie, Luke Allen, Zach Fossen and Andy Oslund earned runner-up honors in the 200 free relay.
