More than $50M approved for ND flooding assistance

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — The Federal Emergency Management Agency has reported that more than $50 million in federal and state disaster assistance has been approved so far through grants and low-interest loans for North Dakotans who suffered losses during this year's flooding.

The Minot Daily News reports that the aid has gone to residents in Barnes, Burleigh, McHenry, Morton, Ramsey, Renville, Richland and Ward counties, and the Spirit Lake Nation.

FEMA says more than 8,500 people have applied for disaster assistance in North Dakota.
