Three sentenced in district for felonies

Three people were convicted on felony charges in Southeast District Court in Jamestown.

Aaron Kulink, 22, North Dakota State Hospital sex offenders unit, pleaded guilty to criminal mischief, a Class C felony.

He was accused of causing property damage in excess of $2,000 at the Secure Services Unit of the North Dakota State Hospital on March 30.

Judge Thomas E. Merrick ordered Kulink to four years supervised probation. Kulink is to pay $100 defense/facility administration fee, $3,586 restitution and $25 victim-witness fee. He is to serve 30 days.

A Class C felony is punishable by a maximum of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Erik Michael LaRocque, 19, North Dakota State Penitentiary, was accused of simple assault and contact by bodily fluids or excrement, both Class C felonies.

LaRocque was accused of striking a correctional officer on Jan. 29 and spitting on a different correctional officer on March 25.

Judge John T. Paulson sentenced LaRocque to one year and one day.

Lea Ann Larson, aka Lea Ann Engel, 52, 502 14th St. S.E. #20, was accused of prohibited acts a/controlled substance, a Class A felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C felony.

Larson is accused of possessing methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possessing drug paraphernalia other than marijuana on May 18.

Judge Thomas E. Merrick sentenced Larson to 15 months with 43 days credit for time served. She was ordered to serve four years and two months supervised probation. She is to pay $400 criminal administration fee, $100 defense/facility administration fee, $25 indigent defense application fee and $25 victim-witness fee.

A Class A felony is punishable by a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
