BISMARCK (AP) — Authorities have ruled the death of a 22-year-old man whose body was found in a Mercer County pond an accidental drowning.
In a Bismarck Tribune report, Mercer County Sheriff Dean Dansiezen said an investigation and autopsy shows that Tyrel McBain slipped and struck his head on July 24, went into the water and drowned.
He said McBain was fishing alone at a mine pond between Hazen and Beulah and had been last seen by family that morning.
His body was found by a passer-by in the afternoon.
McBain grew up in Hazen but had moved to the West Fargo area several years ago.
