BISMARCK (AP) — Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring is urging North Dakota ranchers to make sure that any livestock they buy or receive from other states meets North Dakota’s import requirements.
Drought in other parts of the country is forcing ranchers to sell part or all of their herds, or move animals to other states for grazing or feeding. Goehring and Board of Animal Health President Melvin Leland say North Dakota officials empathize with their plight but also want to ensure that all livestock brought to the state meet requirements.
