ND men charged for mailbox bomb found in Bismarck

Two North Dakota men have been accused in federal court of placing an explosive device into a Bismarck mailbox last summer.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Two North Dakota men have been accused in federal court of placing an explosive device into a Bismarck mailbox last summer.

Thomas Crawford and Casey Nagel are charged with unlawful possession of an unregistered firearm and conspiracy to destroy letter box. Crawford faces a separate charge of unlawful making of a firearm.

Both men have pleaded not guilty. Trial has been set for Oct. 11.

Authorities say the device was manufactured with an explosive mixture, soda cans, sparklers and tape.
