UND holds summer commencement ceremony

The University of North Dakota was holding its summer commencement on Friday, with more than 430 students eligible to graduate.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The University of North Dakota was holding its summer commencement on Friday, with more than 430 students eligible to graduate.

Associate English professor Rebecca Weaver-Hightower was tabbed to give the main address in the Chester Fritz Auditorium on campus.

UND also was honoring longtime computer industry businessman Kenneth Mellem with an honorary doctorate of letters degree. The UND alumnus died last summer.
