BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The chancellor of North Dakota's university system says Dickinson State University president Richard McCallum hasn't responded to a demand that he resign.
A report says Dickinson State has inflated its enrollment numbers. Chancellor William Goetz says he met with McCallum this week, and Goetz says the Dickinson State president acknowledged there was a problem.
Goetz says he asked McCallum to resign. He says if McCallum refuses, Goetz will ask the North Dakota Board of Higher Education to fire him.
Goetz says he asked McCallum to give him a decision Thursday, but he says he hasn't heard from McCallum.
Goetz says he won't allow the situation to drag on.
McCallum has been Dickinson State's president since April 2008. He came to North Dakota from a university in Joplin, Mo.
