Former ND soldier pleads guilty in child porn case
A former North Dakota soldier pleaded guilty Monday to child pornography charges.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A former North Dakota soldier pleaded guilty Monday to child pornography charges.
The U.S. attorney's office says the investigation began when 33-year-old Bernard Fischer, of West Fargo, began having online conversations with an undercover police officer posing as 14-year-old girl from Fargo.
Fischer allegedly made plans to meet the girl at a Fargo mall for the purpose of having sex with her. He was subsequently arrested.
Prosecutors say the pornography was discovered during a search of Fischer's residence. He's accused of exchanging images with individuals in the United States while he was stationed in Kosovo.
Fischer was discharged from the Army National Guard in December 2010.
Fischer pleaded guilty to five counts, including one charge of coercion and enticement. He faces life in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 24.
