The names of two children injured when a vehicle struck the bicycle they were riding were released Tuesday, according to the Jamestown Police Department.
Christian Babineau, 10, Jamestown, was riding a bicycle with passenger Jordan Murphy, 10, also of Jamestown. The boys were heading north through the east parking lot of the Jamestown Business Center just before 2 p.m. Thursday.
Babineau failed to stop for a stop sign located at the north exit of the parking lot, police said.
Heather Rostenbach, 32, 1721 Eighth Ave. NE, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet passenger car and had just exited Jamestown Business Center’s west parking lot. She was traveling east on Fourth Street Northeast near the 200 block approaching Third Avenue when the bike crossed the intersection.
The Chevrolet struck the bike, and both boys were ejected and taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Neither was wearing a helmet, police said.
The Chevrolet had $4,000 in damage.
No citations were issued.
