Fargo surgeon denies rape allegation

The attorney for a Fargo doctor accused of drugging a woman in his home and having sex with her says his client is innocent.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The attorney for a Fargo doctor accused of drugging a woman in his home and having sex with her says his client is innocent.

Attorney John Goff tells The Forum that Dr. Jon Norberg will fight felony charges of gross sexual imposition and reckless endangerment.

Authorities accuse Norberg of injecting the woman with an anesthetic in mid-June, rendering her unconscious.

Norberg is an orthopedic surgeon with Sanford Health. Officials there say the allegations predate his employment and the complaint does not involve any patients. Norberg has taken a voluntary leave of absence.
