Fired ND college president requests formal hearing

Fired Dickinson State University president Richard McCallum is asking for higher education officials to review the decision.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Fired Dickinson State University president Richard McCallum is asking for higher education officials to review the decision.

McCallum's attorney, Ben Thomas, sent a letter Wednesday requesting an evidentiary hearing on the matter.

William Goetz, the chancellor of North Dakota's university system, had told McCallum he could resign or be fired after it was discovered that the university had inflated enrollment numbers.

McCallum refused to resign, and received his termination notice earlier this week.
