Letter to the editor: Campground operator provided great hospitality

We would like to publicly thank Laura, the operator of Pelican Point Campground for her unselfish ability to put the needs of others before herself. She is obviously suffering through the flooding of much of her campground, yet she is optimistic and thankful for what she does have. We were in need of a tenting site but she upgraded us to one of her rustic cabins because she felt that the weather might turn ugly. She quickly cleaned and mopped the cabin and then refused to take extra payment for the facility as it was her idea to put us in there! We went bed that night cool, dry, bug free and with big smiles on our faces. Thank you, Laura. You are an asset to your community!
