BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Overnight thunderstorms brought strong winds, heavy rain and large hail to much of southern North Dakota.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the Bismarck-Mandan area, where wind gusted up to 87 mph and an inch and a half of rain was reported in a half-hour's time late Monday. There was street flooding throughout the city, and police reported numerous stalled vehicles.
Hail was reported throughout southwest and south central North Dakota. National Weather Service reports said some of it was nearly as big as tennis balls.
