Dickinson officials say tanker trucks carrying hazardous material are parking in places they shouldn't.

DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — Dickinson officials say tanker trucks carrying hazardous material are parking in places they shouldn't.

The Dickinson Press reports that tankers are not allowed to be left unattended within 500 feet of a residential areas, motels, schools and other areas deemed hazardous by the fire chief.

Fire Chief Robert Sivak says the city wants to “educate the drivers and companies before something bad happens.”

He says drivers are not aware of the rules.
