Send-off today for deploying ND Guard soldiers

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Gov. Jack Dalrymple is slated to attend a send-off ceremony Sunday for about 160 North Dakota National Guard soldiers who are bound for a year of duty in Kuwait.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Gov. Jack Dalrymple is slated to attend a send-off ceremony Sunday for about 160 North Dakota National Guard soldiers who are bound for a year of duty in Kuwait.

The soldiers are with the 188th Engineer Company of Wahpeton, which has a detachment in Oakes. The Sunday send-off is planned for 2 p.m. on the North Dakota State College of Science campus in Wahpeton.

The soldiers will leave later this month for final training at Fort Bliss, Texas, before heading overseas.
