Man faces child neglect charge in Bismarck

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A man faces a felony child neglect charge after allegedly passing out drunk on a Bismarck street bench while caring for a 3-year-old girl.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that bond was set at $4,000 for 34-year-old Sixto Jacquez.

Police say Jacquez was walking the girl to the library Saturday afternoon when he passed out on a bench along the way with the child sitting next to him. Witnesses called authorities.

It was not immediately clear if Jacquez had a lawyer, and a telephone listing for him could not be found. Court documents say he told police he had been staying with the girl's mother for several months.
