Temporary housing being built in Burlington
The Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $2 million contract to a Tennessee-based company to build a temporary housing site for flood-displaced residents of Burlington.
BURLINGTON, N.D. (AP) — The Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $2 million contract to a Tennessee-based company to build a temporary housing site for flood-displaced residents of Burlington.
The city west of Minot was swamped by the Souris River this summer. The temporary housing site to be built by Phillips and Jordan Inc. of Knoxville, Tenn., will include 46 mobile home pads. Each will be equipped with sewer, water and electricity.
Construction was to begin Tuesday.
