Anti-bullying event set for Sept. 29 at library

On Sept. 29, the James River Valley Library System will host an anti-bullying presentation at Alfred Dickey Library in the community room from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The presentation will be given by the “Blonde on the Prairie,” Jodi Rae Ingstad. She is the sister of Shadoe Stevens, who is the author of the book “The Big Galoot,” a children’s storybook based on bullying.

The presentation will include a theatrical reading of “The Big Galoot” by Ingstad. Following the reading there will be an interactive presentation on anti-bullying that she will also perform.

The public is invited to attend. The program is open to parents and children of all ages. Cookies and lemonade will be served. There is no charge to attend the event.
