County Market to close next year

The Leevers County Market store in the Park Plaza Mall will be closing at the end of its lease sometime in 2012, according to a press release from Leevers Foods Inc. issued Thursday.

The Leevers County Market store in the Park Plaza Mall will be closing at the end of its lease sometime in 2012, according to a press release from Leevers Foods Inc. issued Thursday.

The company said the owners of the mall have chosen to enter into a lease with another company. Neither Leevers Foods nor the ownership of the Park Plaza Mall was available for comments Thursday.

Leevers Foods has provided grocery store services since 1971 in Jamestown under the names of Warehouse Foods, Leevers Super Valu and County Market.

Information regarding the identity of the new store operator and the timing of the transition was not available Thursday.
