ND man files lawsuit over alleged oil rig injuries

A North Dakota man is suing for injuries he says he suffered while working on an oil rig.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota man is suing for injuries he says he suffered while working on an oil rig.

Eric Smallwood has filed a federal claim against Anschutz Exploration Corp., of Denver, and Bronco Drilling Co. Inc., of Edmond, Okla.

Smallwood claims the defendants were negligent by not giving him the proper equipment to work on the rig. He's seeking unspecified damages.

The alleged incident happened on Nov. 4, 2009, in Dunn County.

Messages left with the two companies were not immediately returned.
