Little Missouri State Park in ND marks 40 years

A start park in western North Dakota on Saturday was marking a milestone.

KILLDEER, N.D. (AP) — A start park in western North Dakota on Saturday was marking a milestone.

Little Missouri State Park north of Killdeer was celebrating its 40th anniversary with a free barbecue and a variety of entertainment and activities. Admission to the park was free.

The 4,500-acre park is in the heart of the Badlands. It is home to various wildlife, from golden eagles to rattlesnakes, and has about 50 miles of trails available to horseback riders and hikers
