Neighbors want exploded home property cleaned

Some Fargo residents are complaining about the property of Fargo home that was leveled by a September 2008 natural gas explosion.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Some Fargo residents are complaining about the property of Fargo home that was leveled by a September 2008 natural gas explosion.

The Forum reports that only the foundation remains in place, capped with a wooden cover.

Jodi Hanson says she and her neighbors think the property is an eyesore and that their complaints to the city have largely been ignored.

Fargo Inspections Administrator Ron Strand says he has been in contact with the property's owner and his attorney. But he says the property doesn't fall under city ordinances regulating dangerous buildings or blighted structures because there's no structure.

Owner Andy Hardy says the property has been tied up in litigation for three years. He says once the matter is resolved, he'll decide what to do with the property.
