BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota man has pleaded guilty to robbing a Minot bank.

U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon said 33-year-old Ruben P. Slater, of Bismarck, pleaded guilty to a charge of bank robbery on Friday.

Prosecutors say Slater entered the bank at around 9 a.m. April 14 and demanded the teller hand over twenty-dollar bills and fifty-dollar bills, which the teller did.

A bank employee wrote down Slater's license plate number as he drove away, and authorities captured him 30 minutes later.

Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 12. A bank robbery charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
