Goodrich Corporation sold to United Technologies

The Goodrich Corporation, including the Goodrich plant in Jamestown, has been sold to United Technologies, according to reports from Bloomberg Businessweek. The sale price for the corporation is pegged at $16.5 billion.

United Technologies is an aerospace company noted for the Pratt and Whitney jet aircraft engine, among other products.

“It’s probably good run,” said Jim Boyd, former executive at Goodrich in Jamestown. “Change causes fear but they’ve been through this before.”

Calls to Goodrich and United Technologies for comments had not been returned.
