GRAND FORKS (AP) — The top line on the University of North Dakota women’s hockey team this year will feature three Olympic medal winners.
The Grand Forks Herald reports that Finnish star Michelle Karvinen has finally received permission from the NCAA to join the team, after more than a year of waiting. She will join sisters Jocelyn Lamoureux and Monique Lamoureux-Kolls on the Fighting Sioux top line.
Karvinen earned a bronze medal with Finland at the 2010 Games. The Lamoureux twins won silver with the U.S.
The Sioux began their exhibition schedule on Friday against the University of Manitoba. The two teams play again tonight.
