Sendoff ceremony for Kosovo-bound ND soldiers

North Dakota National Guard soldiers bound for a year of duty in Kosovo were being given a final sendoff on Saturday.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota National Guard soldiers bound for a year of duty in Kosovo were being given a final sendoff on Saturday.

The ceremony for the Bismarck-based 112th Aviation Regiment was being held at the Army Aviation Support Facility in the capital city. Gov. Jack Dalrymple and Guard commander David Sprynczynatyk (sprihn-suh-NAT’-ik) were speaking.

The 55 soldiers will leave later this month to be part of the multinational peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. They will be organizing and coordinating air missions.
