Sendoff given for National Guard troops

North Dakota National Guard soldiers bound for a year of duty in Kosovo were given a final sendoff on Saturday.

BISMARCK (AP) — North Dakota National Guard soldiers bound for a year of duty in Kosovo were given a final sendoff on Saturday.

The ceremony for the Bismarck-based 112th Aviation Regiment was held at the Army Aviation Support Facility in the capital city. Gov. Jack Dalrymple and Guard commander David Sprynczynatyk spoke.

The 55 soldiers will leave later this month to be part of the multinational peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. They will be organizing and coordinating air missions.
