Search begins for Extension director

A committee has been formed to search for a new director for the North Dakota State University Extension Service.

FARGO (AP) — A committee has been formed to search for a new director for the North Dakota State University Extension Service.

Director Duane Hauck is retiring at the end of the year, after seven years in the position. He’s been doing Extension work for about 35 years. Extension services provide the public with information and education on everything from farming to home economics.

Marcia McMullen, a plant pathology professor and Extension specialist, is serving as chairwoman of the committee that will search for Hauck’s successor. Advertising for the position began last week, and the search committee will begin screening applicants in early November.
