Authorities search for suspect in ND cornfield

Authorities on Wednesday were searching a cornfield north of Fargo for a man reportedly involved in a gun incident.

ARGUSVILLE, N.D. (AP) — Authorities on Wednesday were searching a cornfield north of Fargo for a man reportedly involved in a gun incident.

KVLY-TV reports that a SWAT team was called in, and a Border Patrol helicopter in the area also joined the search. Authorities tried using a temperature-sensing device to find the man before the air temperature grew too warm for it to be useful.

Cass County deputies say officers initially responded to a woman's report that a man with a handgun had forced her from a vehicle during a domestic dispute. She was taken to jail on an outstanding warrant.

The Forum newspaper reports that the scene is about four miles north of Argusville. KVLY-TV and KFGO radio both report that at least one shot was fired but no one was hurt.
