Letter to the editor: Savings from moving postal work not worth the change

The Tuesday edition of The Jamestown Sun had the headline “Postal work going to Fargo.” This is ridiculous! The savings of $11,000 is small compared to problems this will create for our local postal workers like possible job losses and the cost of any relocation to Fargo.

The Tuesday edition of The Jamestown Sun had the headline “Postal work going to Fargo.” This is ridiculous! The savings of $11,000 is small compared to problems this will create for our local postal workers like possible job losses and the cost of any relocation to Fargo. These employees have homes, children, friends and an attachment to the community. Fargo housing is much higher in price, causing further stress for them. Airports receive federal grants of more than $1 million. Fargo and Grand Forks receive these grants (free money) to help them improve their airline service. Again, ridiculous! Compare millions to $11,000. Come on government people, wake up and do a better job of getting priorities straight.
