Pharmacy board seeks applicants

The 2009 Legislature authorized the addition of a consumer member to the North Dakota Board of Pharmacy. This position, created in 2009, has never been filled.
The role of the consumer member of the pharmacy board includes proactive representation of the pharmacy-related concerns of the general public. To ensure that the ordinary consumer’s concerns are represented, the consumer board member may not be affiliated with any group or profession that provides or regulates any type of health care.
Board of Pharmacy members are appointed by the governor, and require a five year commitment. The seven-member Board of Pharmacy currently meets six times/year in Bismarck/Fargo, and is responsible for the regulation of all pharmacy-related activity in the state. Board members are compensated for attending board meetings.
