North Dakotan residents urged to get flu shots

North Dakota health officials are encouraging state residents to get vaccinated against the flu.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota health officials are encouraging state residents to get vaccinated against the flu.

Immunization program manager Molly Sander at the state Health Department says there is plenty of flu vaccine this year. She says flu shots are recommended for everyone, regardless of their age or health status.

Epidemiologist Michelle Feist (fyst) says that each year, more than 400 North Dakotans die of complications from flu and pneumonia, and hundreds more are hospitalized.
