A Carrington, N.D., man is dead after a two-vehicle crash near the town, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The patrol said a 22-year-old Carrington woman was driving a semi trailer around 2:15 p.m. Friday. She was traveling eastbound along N.D. Highway 200 about three miles east of Carrington, and slowed to turn north onto a gravel township road.

The semi turned onto the westbound driving lane of a pickup truck driven by a 49-year-old Carrington man. The westbound pickup was unable to stop, patrol said. The crash occurred on the westbound lane of the gravel road intersection. Neither driver wore a seat belt.

The semi came to rest in the ditch. The pickup came to rest on the roadway in the intersection, the patrol said.

The woman was treated for injuries at Carrington Health Center and released.

The crash remains under investigation.
