Prairie Rose Garden Club will meet Tuesday for a program on “Take time for Tea.” The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, next to Alfred Dickey Library.

The speaker is Deb Lee from Lisbon, who is an extension agent from Ransom County. Lee says people need to take time to strengthen relationships. She suggests to do this, do so over a cup of tea which can be good for emotional and physical health. The tea warms the body and adds health-promoting substances to the diet. Lee said the time spent in conversation with a friend or family member can strengthen those social bonds that enhance health and well-being. Lee will be bringing different teas to sample.

Those attending are asked to bring a drinking vessel to use. It can be a tea cup, mug or other type of cup. There will be some for those who do not have one. If there is a story to go with your cup, plan to share it. At garden club programs it’s common to do a “roll call” and this month it will be the story about the cup that people brought.

This month’s refreshments will be a little different because during the program they will be shared instead of after the meeting. Hostesses for this month will be Donna Clark and Mary Lee O’Meara. Anyone mayattend the program and/or meeting.

Anyone who has questions may call Betty at 252-4582 or Gloria at 320-9557.
