Names released in fatal accident near Carrington

The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a Carrington man who died Friday after the pickup he was driving was hit by a semi truck.
William Trecker Jr., 49, was driving a 1992 Dodge pickup westbound along N.D. Highway 200 about three miles east of Carrington around 2:15 p.m.
The patrol said a Stephanie Theis, 22, Carrington, was driving a 1992 Peterbilt semi trailer eastbound along Hwy 200 and slowed to turn north onto a gravel township road.
The westbound pickup was unable to stop, patrol said. The crash occurred on the westbound lane of the gravel road intersection. Neither driver wore a seat belt.
The semi came to rest in the ditch. The pickup came to rest on the roadway in the intersection, the patrol said.
Theis was treated for injuries at Carrington Health Center and released.
The crash remains under investigation.
