ORISKA, N.D. (AP) — The congregation of a century-old church in southeast North Dakota that was destroyed by fire has begun construction on a new building.

Congregation president Tom Utke tells the Times-Record that construction of the new Zion Lutheran Church in Oriska should be done by Thanksgiving.

Authorities believe the May 16 blaze at the old building was electrical in nature. No one was hurt.

Church members have been holding Sunday services at the town’s elementary school.
