The Cardinals lost their opening game to Valley City 18-0, but have since reeled off six straight wins and it has them in the No. 2 spot.
Grafton, the last unbeaten team in ‘AA,’ is the only team in front of the Cardinals.
Bottineau is ranked No. 3 with Wahpeton fourth.
Fargo Shanley is still ranked despite its three losses in seven games. In fact, both the Class AAA and AA polls include a 3-loss team.
Devils Lake (4-3) is ranked No. 5 in the ‘AAA’ rankings, which are voted on by the North Dakota Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.
Coming off its win over top-ranked Bismarck, Mandan earns the No. 1 ranking in the ‘AAA’ poll. The Braves (7-0) got all nine first-place votes.
