The mayor of North Dakota's sixth-largest city says he will not seek a second four-year term next year.

MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — The mayor of North Dakota's sixth-largest city says he will not seek a second four-year term next year.

Tim Helbling tells The Bismarck Tribune that when he ran for mayor of Mandan, he said he wouldn't serve for more than four years. He says his goal was to make Mandan a better place and he thinks he's done that.

Helbling says that in his final months in office he wants to bring a major retailer to town.
