Bismarck up to No. 1; Carrington falls to No. 4

Bismarck got six of the 10 first-place votes to reclaim the top spot in the latest Class AAA football rankings.

Bismarck got six of the 10 first-place votes to reclaim the top spot in the latest Class AAA football rankings.

Bismarck Century got four of the 10 top-place votes after beating previous No. 1 Mandan last Thursday, 27-14. All three teams are 7-1. The Braves are ranked third.

Minot and Devils Lake – both 5-3 – remain No. 4 and 5.

Carrington dropped four spots in the Class AA poll after losing at Beulah on Friday night.

The Cardinals (6-2) had won six straight and were ranked No. 2, but fell to fifth this week.

Unbeaten Grafton (8-0) is still No. 1. Bottineau (7-1), Wahpeton (6-2) and Fargo Shanley (5-3) each moved up one spot in the rankings, which are conducted by the North Dakota Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
