Dayton, NFL execs meeting on Vikings stadium

Gov. Mark Dayton is continuing a series of top-level meetings on the Minnesota Vikings’ stadium bid by meeting with NFL executives to talk about the team's push for a public subsidy.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Gov. Mark Dayton is continuing a series of top-level meetings on the Minnesota Vikings’ stadium bid by meeting with NFL executives to talk about the team's push for a public subsidy.

Dayton is scheduled to meet in his office Tuesday afternoon with Eric Grubman and Neil Glat, who are both executive vice presidents with the National Football League. Glat is vice president for stadium development and Grubman leads the league's business operations.

Dayton said Monday he wants to call a special legislative session by late November for a vote on a Vikings stadium package. Republican legislative leaders declined to sign on immediately, citing lack of a specific proposal.

Dayton says he believes the Vikings could leave Minnesota if state leaders fail to act on the issue.
