MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Gov. Jack Dalrymple on Thursday was leading Federal Emergency Management Agency officials on a tour of flood damage in the Minot area.
Dalrymple says the goal is to gain federal support for a flood protection project for the area.
Among the officials on the tour are the administrator of FEMA's hazard mitigation grant program and the agency's associate administrator of response and recovery.
Thousands of homes and businesses in Minot were flooded by the Souris River earlier this year, and nearly 11,000 people in North Dakota's fourth-largest city were displaced.
