MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A long-range flood recovery plan for the Minot area is close to reality.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency says a draft document will be available for review Nov. 7, and the agency will take comments for a week. In late November or early December it will present the plan to Ward County and the cities of Minot and Burlington for adoption.
The region was hit by major Souris River flooding earlier this year. The Minot Daily News reports that the recovery plan focuses on seven project areas: flood control, housing, economic vitality, parks and recreation, transportation, education and health services. It also will include potential funding sources.
