MINOT (AP) — A charity golf tournament in Colorado raised a quarter million dollars for flood recovery efforts in Minot.
The “Sanctuary from the Souris” event was held Sept. 18 at Sanctuary Golf Course south of Denver, which was designed by Dickinson native Jim Engh and is headed by golf pro Rudy Zupetz Jr., a Minot native.
The Minot Daily News reported that about 20 energy companies from the Denver area and few North Dakota-based companies took part. Gov. Jack Dalrymple was among the participants. He also was on hand last week for the $250,000 check presentation in Minot.
The Souris River earlier this year flooded thousands of Minot homes and displaced nearly 11,000 people.
