DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — A state task force will be in Dickinson Wednesday to conduct random compliance checks at various construction sites in the area.
Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says representatives from several state agencies will be checking to see if contractors have the proper licensing, workers’ compensation insurance coverage and are complying with state tax and other regulations.
The task force will also verify that out-of-state individuals, businesses and contractors are properly registered and have obtained licenses from the Attorney General's office
Stenehjem says in a news release that the compliance checks assure that all businesses are following rules and regulations. The area has seen an influx of new contractors because of the recent oil boom.
