The Southeast Jamestown Regional DUI Task Force will conduct unified saturation patrols from Nov. 11-19.

The Southeast Jamestown Regional DUI Task Force will conduct unified saturation patrols from Nov. 11-19. In addition to regular patrol, there will be increased enforcement efforts by the Regional DUI Task Force during these dates.

“The Regional DUI task forces have been in effect for a full year,” said Aaron Hummel, a lieutenant with the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Mark Nelson, director of the Safety Division, said about four of every 10 fatal crashes this year involved alcohol

Currently, 12 agencies within the Southeast Jamestown region participate in the Regional DUI Task Force.

“We are all working toward the same goal which is zero alcohol-related fatalities on North Dakota roads,” said Jason Prochnow, an officer with the Jamestown Police Department.

Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser said the agencies, by working together, have the increased ability to identify and arrest DUI offenders.

The Regional DUI Task Force will continue increased enforcement efforts during the upcoming year.
