MyFight.org will launch its second annual “Coffee Shop Tour” from 8 to 10 p.m. Monday at Jamestown College’s Nafus Student Center, level two.
The event will feature a musical guest, video and brief speeches from the founders about MyFight’s work in Ethiopia. The crowd-sourced apparel that funds microloans will also be for sale at the event.
Jamestown College’s Junior Character in Leadership class decided to organize the event after MyFight announced that its 2011 Coffee Shop tour would award a free trip to Ethiopia to the team that hosted the most profitable event.
“The Junior Character in Leadership class is very excited to host My Fight. It will challenge us to think about what kind of effect we can have in a global sense as college students in a small town. It’s very moving to think that what we are doing at this event can change the lives of someone across the world from us,” said Kelsey Barstad, a Junior in the Character in Leadership program at Jamestown College.
