Warm weather allows completion of harvest

Another week of warm weather across North Dakota has allowed farmers in the state to complete their row crop harvests.

BISMARCK (AP) — Another week of warm weather across North Dakota has allowed farmers in the state to complete their row crop harvests.

The Agriculture Department said in its weekly crop and weather report that temperatures have been above normal statewide and precipitation has been below normal. Statewide, there was an average of 6.5 days available for field work.

The sunflower harvest was essentially complete at 96 percent. Other work included fall tillage and fertilizer applications.

Topsoil moisture supplies were rated 1 percent very short, 28 percent short, 67 percent adequate and 4 percent surplus.
