Woman dies of carbon monoxide poisoning

The Williams County Sheriff says a 49-year-old woman died Sunday of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning in a camper near Trenton.

TRENTON, N.D. (AP) — The Williams County Sheriff says a 49-year-old woman died Sunday of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning in a camper near Trenton.

Sheriff Scott Busching told the Bismarck Tribune that the woman was living with her brother, who is an oil field employee. It appears she turned on a generator during a power outage, failed to properly ventilate the camper and was overcome by poisonous gas fumes.

Authorities have not yet released the woman’s name.
